Alternative themming in a website

Is it possible to offer an alternative theme option in a website? I would like a second theme that uses the OpenDyslexic font.

What do you mean by "option"?

You can change anything about the theme, including fonts as documented:

I'd like the user to be able to choose an alternative theme with a button in the navigation bar. In markdown Books, it was possible to choose serif or sans serif font and to change the text size. I don't see this kind of option in the websites.

You mean dynamically in the browser?

Regarding fonts, it's mostly up to the person making the book/website.

For reference, bookdown setting is inherited from GitBook framework, and option is avalable through this plugins in Gitbook : https://github.com/rstudio/bookdown/blob/main/inst/resources/gitbook/js/plugin-fontsettings.js

Sharing here as reference if anyone wants to try adapt it for a Quarto extension (if possible 🤷‍♂️ )
