Due to http://www.mirbsd.org/permalinks/wlog-10_e20170301-tg.htm copyleft content, including content under the GNU GPL such as this one, is no longer welcome on GitHub.

Possible choices are either relicencing under a permissive licence, explicit waiving of various rights as denoted in the article (possibly hampering contributions), or full removal (including of any and all forks of the repository) from GitHub.
