Actual Behavior

I installed Rancher Desktop for the first time using the 1.16.0 for macOS (Intel) download link on https://rancherdesktop.io/, but I immediately get a popup about a Kubernetes Error when trying to run it. Closing the popup still allows me to interact with the Rancher Desktop UI, but the Docker Daemon never starts.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Download the macOS (Intel) version from https://rancherdesktop.io/ as a .dmg file
  2. Double-click the .dmg file after finished downloading
  3. Drag and drop the Rancher Desktop executable into the Applications folder
  4. Run Rancher Desktop
  5. Click Ok for the default settings when setting up Rancher Desktop for the first time (i.e. checked "Enable Kubernetes", v1.31.4 (stable, latest), Container Engine: dockered (moby), Configure PATH: Automatic)
  6. Upon startup the popup with the Kubernetes error message appears

Result

error_message

Expected Behavior

Rancher Desktop to start successfully

Additional Information

Have also tried switching Virtual Machine Type to VZ, using previous Kubernetes version such as v1.30.8 and v1.21.0, and unchecking the "Enable Kubernetes" option after factory resets, but nothing has fixed it so far.

@sdinh-teachx There is unfortunately not enough information in this bug report; are you able to attach logs here?
