Actual Behavior

When installing RancherDesktop on a business device with a proxy, i cannot get the proxy settings getting valid, so all calls from rancher-desktop to internet are failing (k3s.io, github,...).

Steps to Reproduce

Prerequesites:

  • WSL with "Ubuntu" preinstalled
  • RD 1.16.0 installed in user-space (non-admin)
  • reset RD
  • connect RD in Preferences/WSL/Integrations to "Ubuntu"
  • configure preferences/WSL/Proxy to use dedicated proxy with IP/port only (no-auth)
image
  • connect to rancher-desktop:
wsl -d rancher-desktop
image

#check moproxy:
image

  • settings in proxy.ini are (based on my readings) not correct, [proxy] and [noproxy] settings are missing?
  • both tested with WSL autoproxy on/off, also tested noproxy cfg in GUI for all IP´s in CIDR 10.0.0.0/8 except the one in use

Result

please see above

Expected Behavior

proxy settings shall succeed and used globally in the RD VM
