Rick...
Sorry, I wish it were this easy.
Try this:

  1. In stall logbook, make sure it works for you.
  2. Close OCPN
  3. Delete all the files in "plugins/logbook/data".
  4. Start OCPN again. Exercise logbook and logbook preferences. All works fine for me on W10.
  5. Files in "logbook/data" have reappeared, mostly empty.

I think this shows that the PIM does not install those files, but the plugin creates them on its first startup. Indeed, we see no evidence of installation of these files in the CMakeLists.txt for the plugin.
The reason the OP sees only one file is probably because OCPN app crashes before completing the initialization.

Sorry.

Ok, I should have done it myself to check. Sorry.
She has Windows and gets a failure result that other Windows users don't get.

You are suggesting that the plugin fails just after copying the first file...
What could it be?

Is she using some Antivirus and Security like Norton or Windows Defender that is set on high alert, when the layout.zip is unpacked?

The entire OpenCPN program is instantly shutdown by AV or Firewall?

I noticed that Defender had turned their security setting up a notch when it came to installing 5.10.2 the first time.

I am going to ask her about her AV&Firewall.
