level 3 progress with incomplete level 2

If you manage to tick off some/all the checklists for level 3 of a skill when you have not yet achieved the level 2, will those moments count as checked off for level 3 once you have reached level 2, or will you have to repeat those level 3 skills all over again?

I was just asking because I think I may check off all the elements for prepare level 3 before assignment 5 is graded. Even when assignment 5 is graded, I may not get prepare level 2, but I just wanted to be prepared
