What is database support for?

I saw on the website that database support is optional. What does it add when you use it? I installed Scriberr on Unraid with a community template that makes use of Pocketbase & Reddit but I'm not even sure that it actually does anything.

I'm also confused because Scriberr has no data that's being saved in its config folder at all. It has zero bytes. Maybe the Unraid community template for Scriberr is broken?

Hi ! Can you clarify where in the website you saw that database support is optional ? If that's printed somewhere it is incorrect.
Scriberr needs and uses a SQLite database.
When the app was first launched it was using pocketbase and around v0.4 we shifted to Postgres. Starting v1.0.0 the project had moved to SQLite.
The unraid chart isn't official and I haven't looked at it either. So I'm guessing the unraid chart isnt using the latest version.

Im personally not familiar with unraid charts as i dont use unraid. But with some help i dont mind creating sn official unraid chart for this.

My apologies, I think I misread the part about the database being optional when it really said:

“# Data storage (optional)”

And yes it seems that the unraid template is very out of date and also may explain some of the issues I’m experiencing. I’ll nuke everything and set it up via docker compose.

An official unraid template would be great in the future!
