Dear all,
as part of my master thesis, I want to use oemof-B3 to simulate the transformation of the Cuban energy system (electricity only) until 2030.

After I managed to edit the input-csv-files with Cuba-specific data, I am now stuck with two questions:

  1. I want to set a constraint for the minimal (or exact) renewable share of 37%. I think I have seen this constraint in the MVS. Is it also possible to implement this in oemof-b3?
  2. In my first simulations, gas power plants were running over 8600 full load hours. This doesn't seem realistic. Can I set a max-limit to the full load hours of the different technologies? This would be particularly helpful in the Cuban case, because their power plants are very old and high maintenance, thus experiencing long shut-down times.

I'm extremely thankful for any advice!

Dear @Mabra-hub,

the functionality you are asking for is not implemented in oemof-B3. As you adapt the model anyway, you can add custom constraints to your model. This will have to happen in the optimize step, similar to the emission constraint and the el-gas-constraint in oemof-B3. If you need help with constraints in oemof generally, you should get in contact with the oemof users and developers at RLI.
