it seems GeoLocator sends wifi signal strength info to Google Maps every two minutes in attempt to get location updates, even if no website is open that would require location (just one tab with a blank page) and even if a fixed location is selected to be reported to websites asking.
I wasn't sure whether it really is Geolocator, as the URL of the requests didn't change even when I changed extensions.geolocater.googleservice in about:config, but I could reliably de- and re-activate those requests by disabling and enabling the addon.
Could you verify this behavior? If so, could you change it to send wifi information only if Google is selected as the service provider and a website actually requests the location?
