Port to Ignition Gazebo #3
Comments
It's still needed?! Sad. I'll consider porting it; no plan at this point. |
There is a workaround for Gazebo Classic. Unfortunately, it doesn't work with Ignition Gazebo (see ROS Answers). That is why it would be great to have your plugin ported to Ignition Gazebo. I'm not sure how much work this is though. |
Unfortunately, this plugin is still needed. That is why it would be great to have it ported to Ignition Gazebo. Is there any progress regarding this matter? |
Uff, my apologies; I neglected this. I'll make an effort to address it during the upcoming holidays. |
That would be great! |
I've been waiting for the chance to start using Ignition Gazebo so that I can get myself up to speed and implement this plugin along the way. Unfortunately, my experience with Ignition Gazebo has been disappointing so far, and as it looks at the moment, I do not intend to get involved with it. So, not to keep you waiting, I should inform you that I do not plan to address this issue in the near future. Maybe, someone else from the community would like to jump in? |
Hey @nlamprian, it's a pitty to hear that. May I ask why you are disappointed with Ignition Gazebo (apart from the confusing renaming to Gazebo)? |
Poor performance, bad user experience, and random crashes. I have no incentive to go through another round of hacks and troubleshooting to work around the problems in Ignition. |
There is now support for mimic joints in Gazebo Harmonic. |
Is it planned to port this plugin to Ignition Gazebo (Fortress being the latest LTS version)?
