currently the application shell (header bar, sidenav, etc) are wrapped in the root app tag - this basically means that once angular2 boots, the entire shell is replaced with dynamic content. This currently ...

Should have a service worker implementation for the UI and application shell files, also set up a pre-caching. Currently supported in Chrome and FF. cc @alxhub
