   i understand if you don't want to do either of these things, but they would both make the UI easier to use

Mod Sorting

"Sorting" the mods does have a non-trivial impact on the mods and their compatibility with each other.
The mod list order is a load order, like in Skyrim mods. Sometimes certain mods need to be loaded before or after another mod so it's unwise to sort the mods list at all. I let the mod user craft the order and preserve it.

The sorting I provide right now is mostly for my own convenience as a mod developer but there's some reasoning to sorting the mods by their steam ID. The steam IDs are issued such that sorting by ID will make the oldest mods load first.

Search

This is already an idea I plan to implement next time I get some time to work on the launcher.
