To enhance security, I think that it would be a good idea to have the 
possibility to sign and/or encrypt messages from/to the phone with a PGP key.

This is somehow related to the ticket 204 
(http://code.google.com/p/gtalksms/issues/detail?id=204), which suggest the 
implementation of OTR encrypytion.
