Have you run tests on Windows 8.1.

My mother is running a Surface Pro 3 and Chrome v 41.0.2272.118 m

The Search Icon never shows up. It appears to work for Passwords...like on GitHub. So, I'm assuming this is working on Chrome, but perhaps not for the version you have tested.

It will only show on a few genealogy websites, such as FamilySearch and Ancestry, when it recognizes person information on that page that can be used to seed a search.

Yeah. Tried that. A few of the sites listed.
