Hey @gaborcsardi ,

Love the goodpractice package, it's super helpful when collaborating with students on a package when I'm trying to encourage them to adopt a bit cleaner syntax etc. It's great to have a utility they can run before sending me code so I don't have to remind them about this manually myself every time.

While I use packages for almost everything, I'd really love to be able to run something like this on a plain R script (or RMarkdown file?); e.g. in a classroom setting to introduce the idea of such automated check/suggestions earlier before we discuss making packages. Is that possible with the existing codebase or would that be a feature you'd consider adding?

Thanks much!

Carl

Hi Carl, good idea! I'll consider this when I work on this package next time.

It looks like some of this functionality is included in the checkers package: https://github.com/ropenscilabs/checkers
