[OS X | LINUX] Please report here issues for MAC build. #180
Comments
I think I had the same issue a while ago. The first run always takes some time, 3~5 minutes. Have you waited that long? |
No I didn't. I ended up downloading an earlier version of the software that launched immediately. Thanks for the heads up though. I'll download the newest version and test it out. |
Damn, lets keep this opened for others, I know that we still not fully support MAC and we may get more issue reporters, so. |
Oh I got you. I just figured my main question was answered, my bad. |
On a 2.4 GHz i7 Macbook Pro running 10.9.4 the 2.6.1.0 build takes 3-5 minutes to load the first time for me as well. The second load it loads immediately. I noticed that the first time it loaded the tabs wouldn't never load. So if I clicked on |
Hi there, I have previously used the toolkit to convert CDLCs from PC to Mac. I found that at a point in time the Toolkit stopped opening. I have updated to the Mac version uploaded on 2014-08-26 04:15:22 and also updated MonoFramework-MDK-2.10.11.macos10.xamarin.x86.dmg but it still won't open. The icon flashes up in my toolbar for a few seconds then disappears. I have left it and come back an hour later but still no dice. Anyone know what I am doing wrong or is this version of the toolkit not working for a mac. I am using a 2009 iMac with 3.06 GHz Intel core Due and 4GB ram and OSX v10.9.4. As I say it worked fine until a while back (cannot remember the point it stopped working0 so if anyone could help I'd appreciate it greatly... |
Probably one of resource files are bad, I need @ray to check this out, anyway codereview is coming guys :) |
Thanks for such a quick response! Happy to test as and when required :-) |
None of the versions from d54b795 onwards are working for me. Also, is there any way to implement a batch converter? 2012 MacBook Pro, OSX 10.9.4 fully updated |
* All resources was converted to embbed and all specific form resource was removed.
@Box1813 Download the lastest build and try again to test! Thanks! |
@Box1813 , CLI dlcconverter are already inpace, open toolkit folder and find dlcconverter.exe use parameters like this:
|
@fabianosan Thanks for the update. I tried the latest version on 2009 iMac with 3.06 GHz Intel core duo and 4GB ram and OSX v10.9.4 with MonoFramework-MDK-2.10.11.macos10.xamarin.x86.dmg but still no joy: the icon flashes up in my toolbar for a few seconds then disappears. |
@shakey64, go here and try to install MRE http://www.mono-project.com/download |
@L0FKA |
@shakey64, I'll tryto launch it with my mono, now it won't open for me too. |
I'm having the same problem. Running Mavericks on a late 2013 Macbook Pro. I've installed Mono MRE and MDK and it still does not run. |
I've tried the new builds with the newest mono, same issues. Thanks for being so active. (Aside: I'm a rookie with OSX. I navigated to dlcconverter.exe but I can't do the Windows method of just making a shortcut and adding the parameters. On the console I've tried every variation that I and Google can come up with, but I think I'm missing something. The best result I've gotten is an error for the --sp argument.) |
PS: GUI can only usable with WINE for OSx. Only CLI tools are compatible with MacOS and MONO. @Box1813, you can found help with command line, write "dlcconverter.exe --help" or write a question on custom forge forum and wait help... |
Hi guys (@fabianosan, @L0FKA) |
@shakey64, Try last build, there is fixed couple unhandled exceptions, I'll use MoMA to identify common issues with mono and fix that, but I can't guarantee that it would work as expected, there is bunch of tools for Win only, like revorb, nvdxt, sfk and ddc. Features provided by this tools would be unavailable. (use WINE to execute windows executables at *nix systems) |
@L0FKA |
@shakey64, dig into dlcconverter, you can find all info about it here: https://github.com/rscustom/rocksmith-custom-song-toolkit/blob/master/RocksmithToolkitCLI/dlcconverter/Program.cs |

Thanks for checking in, @scruffycatherder... Unfortunately, that didn't help. I installed the version he listed and I'm still getting the same errors. What's weird is that I get the error regardless of whether I use the GUI or CLI versions and it happens on every CDLC I've tried (and I've tried quite a few). Any other thoughts/suggestions? |
I've worked on some improvements and it did break on sng generation stuff, I'll fix it asap but can't guarantee that it will be soon,sry, use some earlier builds for now :) |
github should change it's close&comment buttons to red and switch it with simple comment or squeeze it, i hate it current state :( |
@L0FKA: How far back do we need to go for PC to Mac conversion to work? |
DLC PC to MAC conversion doesn't work? |
@fabianosan: Correct. It always ends with the message I posted above regardless of the CDLC tried. The message via command-line processing is shorter, but still includes that first line. |
@dpkonofa, fixed |
@L0FKA Thaks so much for sorting this :-) Happy New Year to you... |
Ditto. Sorry about the delayed response. Didn't realize this was fixed. You're the best! |
I just installed the latest version (date: 2015-04-30 04:54:41) and MonoFramework 4.0.0 and the first start of the app takes 3-5 mins (as already mentioned). I have 2 hdd's in my laptop and when browsing to convert from pc to mac, my 2nd hdd does not show up under 'my computer' Also, I cannot move the GUI window of the app. Not sure if this is the normal behaviour. |
@noreye, I haven't tested lastest version under Mono, It's not that polished at win state, so I just have no spare time for testing with mono, on the other hand, those issues looks like Mono related, instead of our code issues, I can test under my Linux install, after I solve things I want with win version. glad it stll works at all under OS X :D |
@L0FKA , no big deal. I just copied the folder to my desktop and it works fine :) and the errors are in Xamarin. Any ideas on how to fix those? Edit: Nevermind, I figured out there is the CLI for win in the app folder and using Mono, I was able to get it to work. Here is a link to some instructions for anyone else in need |
@noreye, just to let you know that all cli tools are included within Mac build, you can find it right after rstk gui exe, so you just went too further for this, great that you figured things out, Xamarin is really great IDE, I like it more than even msvc 2012 and maybe 2013 too :P |
Hello, anyone can help me? I can launch rstoolkit with this command : |
You can skip those optimizations but it won't help much I guess btw anyone else have such issues? |
I correct what I said, multiple selection works if I click on each item by pressing simultaneously shift + cmd. But does not work if I want all selected in a folder with the keyboard shortcut or a large quantity allowed by clicking and dragging the mouse.And it is this last option that I wish I had since I have to convert hundreds of files :( |
argghhh forget what I've said today it's working Oo |
@MLKhan I think the problem comes from nvdxt.exe which is the tool to convert dds cover files under toolkit. But it doesnt work under *nix-mono as its windows executable only. The executable should be replaced something crossplatform compatible solution like Nconvert or something mono can run |
We've got fully working wineskined version of the toolkit for mac, so for those who interested look up here: better than current native solution. |
Im having trouble getting RSToolkit to work. I have the current version of Mono installed correctly, and the most current version of the Toolkit. I get a message that says "Unhandled Exception". If I click Yes or No, it just closes on me. |
@Jayboi1234 try version from the link I've got above, mono version comes as is and not tested by developers actually. some users reports that it's working fine and some has issues with the installation or so you may get lucky reading this topic over CF : http://customsforge.com/index.php/topic/33889-how-to-add-custom-songs-on-mac/ |
Hey
I'm tyring to run the toolkit on my Macbook with Mavericks on it and it doesn't launch. It just hangs until i force close it.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
PS: works with MRE 3.4.0
