In the search view, profiles all show four icons (e.g. 'Available to volunteer', 'Open to job offers' etc.). When these are true, they are coloured in blue, and when not true they are grayscale.
As many users haven't flagged these, it's easy to go to the page of profiles and see both the tooltips and no blues (which would help suggest the on/off state), so assume everybody is up for everything.

Potential solutions
Hide the icons rather than making them grayscale if they don't apply to someone
Updating the tooltip text to the negation if disabled, e.g. 'Not available to volunteer', 'Not open to job offers'
Happy to try to implement one of these, if there is conensus around a sensisble solution.

Hi @domdomegg, thanks for raising this. As the EA Hub has suspended new feature development and will shut down in the not so distant future, I don't think it's worth your time to work on this.
