Suffix for my prerelease versions, beta by default ?

Is it possible to use semver prerelease for bump_version_scheme?
Will it trigger a prerelease event? Or have the prerelease flag set on the release event?

Could this repo use a semver module such as https://github.com/npm/node-semver?
