No longer compatible with Moodle 2.6 & 2.7

Good Day,
The changes in last commit setting "$plugin->requires = 2014111300;" means the plugin can no longer be used with Moodle 2.6 or 2.7.
Could you please create a new branch for the different Moodle versions so that those of us who have GIT linked plugins can still use the APC Cache?

I just checked and it is not compatible with 2.8 either. The most recent 2.8 branch is version 2014111003.01 https://github.com/moodle/moodle/blob/MOODLE_28_STABLE/version.php
While APC plugin requires 2014111300.

Is this feasible for Moodle 3.x ? I see it is standing open for a long time now.
