Demo App ideas

TodoApp is good starting point, but would be really great to build fully featured app that developers could use as a reference. Please suggest ideas and discuss about it here. Few initial ideas:

• TodoApp - we can extend current TodoApp, but it's well know that a Todo App doesn't represent complexities that usual real world apps has.
• E-Commerce - boring, but definitely would help to findout missing features in Swifton
• New Startup - this would be most exciting, any hustlers here that would like to get their idea implemented?

Are you planning to make it an API server only? Or would you also use it for server side html rendering like basecamp is build?

Here are some ideas:

• Survey App like this:

• Simple slack clone
• A movie website where you can rate movies and get recommendations
• A Taylor Swift fan page that gathers data from twitter, instagram and so on. There could be votings, image galleries.
• A blog
• A CMS
• an admin page for all the models like https://github.com/sferik/rails_admin

Those are some quick ones. I might add more later.

@NerdyGlasses thanks! I'm planning both API for mobile app and server side HTML rendering. Definitely would be great to achieve something as Basecamp :)

I'm actually leaning to some exciting new startup idea, instead of boring e-commerce or so :) We just need to come up with some fantastic idea!

Define startup. Do you wanna make profit or does the project just have to be exciting?
You could think of ideas that could help refugees here in europe or so.

Or you could make a nice multiplayer game or so. Like draw something.

Profit and startups? I don't think it works this way these days :)) Would be great to help refugees, but I doubt we can do much with an app when even Merkel can't, but who knows.

I'm thinking about something casual so it could grow big - social, dating, content etc. Or some clever and interesting idea that solves business problems could be cool too.
