Browser: Firefox 104.0.1 (64-bit)
Addon Version 0.5.5

There is no option to set the target language and the addon doesn't remember the last target language. If you translate the website by right-clicking and "Translate with Google", I always need to go set the target language manually. IIRC, it was not like this before. Either the feature was removed or stopped working.

I was also having this issue, but I managed to fix it with a setting change.

Go to manage extensions and select this one, then

  1. Choose 'Options'

Translate View Settings 1

  1. Under Google's extra arguments, put
    sl=auto&tl=en

Translate View Settings 2

  1. Scroll to the bottom and save the settings

Translate View Settings 3

That should make it auto detect source language and translate to English. If you want a different target language, change the tl=en to the language code for what you want.
