Metered connection detected/not playing

Pixel 8 pro updated to android 14. Radio droid from f-droid running Version: 0.86 (git bafa5f3) 2023-10-02 12:56:29

Getting continuous metered connection error. Pressing ok brings the error back. Pressing Cancel removes the error till I try to play a station then error pops back up. Same with any station.

When connected to 5g and working wifi, receive error.
When mobile disabled with wifi active it works fine and I can listen to stations.
When 5g active and wifi closed, getting this error again.

Could it be the 5g is now prioritised over wifi with no fall bac and 5g broken? Browser works fine on 5g.

Editted to add that disabling the off wifi warning also allows to connect while on 5g only or 5g+wifi. (I believe this setting should be moved from player to under connectivity, and while on this subject further settings added to enable 5g connection and wifi separately, and one to prioritise wifi or 5g selectively. I'll open a seperate ticket for this when I can).
