First login password reset and password policy

Hello,

is it possible to force new (non-admin) user to reset her password when first login or maybe better to create a link to a site where the user has to set a password for the first time?
And the next question or feature request would be whether it is possible to define a password policy e.g. password length greater then 12 signs, use of upper and lower case letters, numbers, special characters?
