audio_test not working with respeaker 2-mic

I installed the driver from the ReSpeaker/seeed-voicecard and can record successfully using arecord -d 10 /tmp/test.wav but when I run the Assistants-Pi/scripts/audio-test.sh the recording test fails. There is no respeaker option so I select 1 for 1) AIY-HAT-or-CUSTOM-HAT, it fails to record.
I did copy /etc/asound.conf to /home/pi/.asoundrc but every time I run the audio test I get this error arecord: main:788: audio open error: No such file or directory

I haven't tried the install script yet, but could it work if the audio test script fails? What can I do to resolve this?

Try to install the driver included in this repo. I have the same setup and it is working with Google Assistant
