I've struggled to find a better app for this purpose. I love it.

One suggestion:
It would be great if the settings didn't reset to default every time the app is closed. I know that there aren't many settings but it is a pain to configure them every time it's opened.

Agreed! Specifically in my case it would be terrific if it retained:

  1. The source that was previously selected under "Camera --> Source", so for instance you don't have to reselect the external USB camera every time, and
  2. the size and position of the viewer window, so I don't have to expand it to fill the screen each time I open it.

Those two settings being retained between uses would make this a perfect tool. Thank you for creating the tool in the first place!

I know this isn't a "feature voting" forum, but I'd add my request for some way to open this almost-perfect app to a particular camera (I always open QC and immediately hit Command-3).

I recognize that saving preferences or state introduces real additional complications. Perhaps much simpler to implement would just be a command-line argument to open QuickCamera to a particular numbered/named source. (There could also of course be arguments for mirroring/rotation, borderless, and window position/size.)

Thanks again dev(s) for a great tool!
