This PR will update notebooks for the upcoming 2024 short course.

We should think about more interaction between packages in the examples. For example a simple workflow of processing a single station and then doing a 1D inversion. Then trying again using a remote reference and seeing the differences between clean and noisy data.

installation

  • Work on creating a conda env
  • Figure out issue on installing PardisoSolver through pydiso
  • Interact with Geohub people to install all required packages.

mt-metadata

  • Make sure notebooks work

mth5

  • Make sure notebooks work
  • Make sure examples for downloading data from Earthscope work
  • Build an example notebook for Phoenix Earthscope data [2 stations]
  • Make sure LEMI notebook works

Aurora

  • Make sure notebooks run
  • Example notebook for broadband data with example data

mtpy-v2

  • Include Aurora
    • add to setup.py
    • build wrapper module for processing
    • Add example notebook for processing example data
  • Include SimPEG
    • 1D: add ability to "edit" data, [ add error floor | remove | remove and interpolate ]
    • 2D: build wrappers for data, mesh [ structured | octree ], run inversion, visualize outputs
      • Data
      • Model
      • Run
    • 3D: build wrappers for data, mesh [ structured | octree ], run inversion, visualize outputs
  • Build examples for 2D profiles
    • Plot strike
    • Plot PT and tipper pseudo section
    • Plot resistivity and phase pseudo section
  • Have a single install command for all packages conda -c conda-forge install mtpy-v2

SimPEG

  • Build 2D notebooks for profile data from example data
  • Build 3D notebooks
    • Synthetic
    • Real data
  • Check with Earthscope person about computing capability
