<strong>Short Bio:</strong>
Shengjie Liu is currently a PhD student in Population, Health and Place in the Spatial Sciences Institute at University of Southern California.
He received his B.Sc. degree in geographical information science with a concentration in remote sensing from Sun Yat-Sen University.
He was a research assistant with the physics department at The University of Hong Kong.
His research uses advanced statistical and machine learning methods to analyze remote sensing data (AI4EO), with topics covering few-shot learning, active learning, and
open-set recognition. He is also interested in the applications of these methods and data, including urban climate and artificial light at night.
