I've been using your separator for quite a few years now (I'm not exactly sure, but I would say something like 10 years).
Today, while grooming my bookmarks, I wondered if there was a native solution for handling this issue in Chrome-based browsers (I hadn't checked for years).

So I took a few minutes to look around the web, and it seems that Google still doesn't want to implement this basic feature.

It is worth noting that a few new websites have started implementing your idea (I won't mention them here) and they track analytics in their solution. You don't (checked the source code) which is great for user anonymity.

Thanks for sharing your trick with the world without trying to capitalize on it compared to others (analytics).
