Since 6.x, Notepad++ handles UDLs differently.
For Win10 and Notepad 7.9.2:
The language parser (as a separate .xml file) is now located in %APPDATA%\Roaming\Notepad++\functionList ;
The association is now in the file %APPDATA%\Roaming\Notepad++\functionList\overrideMap.xml .
Instructions are in the Notepad++ User Guide and inside overrideMap.xml .
No modifications to Notepad++'s functionList.xml are necessary.
The autocompletion file still goes to the usual location in the install directory.

This works fine on Windows 10/11.
All that is now needed is the UDL file - userDefineLang.xml. The other files are no longer required.
I have amended the Flightgear wiki with instructions. https://wiki.flightgear.org/Howto:Syntax_highlighting_for_Nasal .
