Installing a LAMP-Stack using Chef

This project installs and configures a simple lamp-stack with apache2, mysql and php5 on a Ubuntu 14.04 Server. The credentials for the mysql-user can be configured in the default.rb file.

Dependencies

Installed Software

If you only want to quickly setup a lamp stack just download vagrant and virtualbox. Additional you will need the vagrant-berkshelf plugin. For installation tutorials read the vagrant-berkshelf plugin README. If you want to use this project without vagrant but with chef get the ChefDK which contains all neccessary tools to setup the lamp-stack

Installation

Installation with vagrant

Check first if you have installed vagrant and virtualbox. After that just run git clone https://github.com/slipke/csm_ss15_sem_team_vagrant.git and navigate to /lamp-apache/chef and run vagrant up from your terminal

###Installation with Chef and Berkshelf Navigate to your chef directory and type the following:

Berkshelf 3

* berks vendor cookbooks

Berkshelf 2

* berks install --path cookbooks

Hence the cookbooks install and change system configuration files, they must be run with root permissions.

* sudo chef-client --local-mode --runlist 'recipe[apt], recipe[apache], recipe[mysql], recipe[php]'
