Hi.
First of all, thank you for the great work you've done, and I'm sorry for opening such a broad topic, but this is all linked so I think it's better this way, I hope it's not a problem.
I'm trying to add to home assistant a remote for my Samsung AR12TXHZAWKN and since the code matched I used the 1403 code file. The file works fine, except for the fan mode, and also some modes/options are missing so I decided to try and capture my own codes.
After capturing them I tried creating my code file, but I have the same issues, I cannot use the fan mode and the missing modes are still missing, so I have some questions.
is there a guide to follow for code file creation so I can read it and avoid bothering you? I couldn't find it
if I succeed in creating my file and decide to add it to the repository is there a naming scheme to follow? is this considered an improved version of the 1403 code or is it a new one? and if it is a new one is the number simply sequential or does it have a meaning?
any idea why the fan mode isn't working? what should I look for?
If I want to add new modes/functions how should I do it? In particular, I'm trying to add the cool/heat mode plus eco option and cool/heat mode plus fast option. Should I add them as modes or is there something else I can use for these options? and if I add them as modes, how can I make them show in home assistant? simply adding them to the code file didn't work
Some modes have different temperature ranges (16-30 for normal cool and heat, 18-30 for dry, 24-30 for cool+eco, and no temperature adjustment for fast cool/heat and fan only), and also the fan-only mode supports only the manual fan speeds. What should I do with the missing values?
Even if my unit doesn't support horizontal swing my remote does. If someone finds that useful I can map those codes too, but how should I add them to the file?
