No installed app list is visible when you're using a Pebble Time

+1 Store works, but installed app list seems to stay empty and I can not find any apps or watchfaces on my Pebble Time Steel.

+1 for pebble time steel. Furthermore I am unable to use any Pebble Time apps at all.
This issue may be related to #79 "Add Pebble Time App store".

Hi, what exactly is the problem? I don't really understand what's not working.
I think i have fixed #79 but this issue sounds like that the app/faces slots are not being displayed on the watch details screen. If this is the case, i'm sorry i cant help due to not having a pebble time.

Otherwise please provide a screenshot to show what exactly is the issue here and i hope i can help out.

Please let me elaborate:
Initially, I did set up my pebble time with the Pebble Android app. I also installed a few watchfaces and apps that way. None of those apps appear on Sailfish - when I select my pebble in the SFOS app the list of pebble applications is empty.

Also - and this may be related - I am unable to initially start any pebble app when connected to the SFOS app.
This does not work:

  1. Install Pebble app via Android
  2. Disconnect Pebble Time from Android, connect to SFOS app
  3. Start Pebble App on Pebble - pebble app does not start (startup progress bar stops at 10%)
    In contrast, this works:
  4. Install Pebble app via Android
  5. Start Pebble app (starts)
  6. Disconnect from Android, connect to SFOS
  7. re-open the pebble app, it now works

This is due to the unlimited apps feature of the Time/v3 firmware. When you start an app on the Pebble it will actually need to download the app from the phone. So the Pebble only has space to have a couple of apps available (the ones you used last presumably) and otherwise the app needs to be downloaded from the phone.

But as this is a major change compared to the old Pebbles firmware it isn't supported yet by pebbled.

I have like 20 apps/watchfaces on my Pebble. I've opened them once
when i was connected to an Android device, Pebble doesn't need to
download these again, untill it connects to another android device.
(when you connect to Jolla, it won't remove them either). So it Seems
like it's more then just a couple apps that it can hold :)

Well, it will also depend on the size of the apps. So when you have apps which are a lot bigger you of course can't store 20 of them.

But either way, the way apps are installed and used etc changed drastically. And on topic to the original question about having the app list available. The only way I've seen which would make this possible is by requesting it from the Pebble servers, as all installed apps are linked to the account. So that's also a major change compared to the way the old Pebble (firmware) had some slots available to install an app in and you could just ask the Pebble itself which app was in which slot.

The pbw files are not (directly) downloaded from the Pebble servers, they
are only downloaded once to the phone. So you can use the apps that aren't
loaded before without internet connection.
That means we can also use something like this, when the Pebble Time tries
to reach for the apps, Pebbled should be redirecting to the correct pbw
files. That should solve the problem

Any progress on this?

The apps/watch faces do get downloaded, but they can't be installed to the watch.
