The detail about access mode of Write and Append

I referred to the definition and use cases to understand the access control.

I had two questions about access mode.

1. When apply Append access mode to a file, the agent can add third text but not delete the written text in below sample text file.
   Is my understanding correct?

2. When apply Write access mode to a container, the agent can just delete the container not add file into the container.
   Is there any operation the agent with Write access can do for the container?

A good place to use as reference for understanding the Solid ecosystem is the published specifications (I'm afraid the two links you're pointing to aren't really authoritative and probably should be archived).

The specs most closely related to understanding access control are:

1. Solid Protocol - Reading and Writing resources
2. Web Access Control - Access Modes.
3. Access Control Policy (note that this spec is agnostic as to which access modes are granted and which operations they entail).

There is also a relevant issue: #85 on the Web Access Control Spec and more specifically the comment presenting a table of Access Modes and corresponding operations.

To answer your questions:

1. In my understanding (off the top of my head), Solid servers mainly support Append in terms of RDF Sources, that is, appending triples to an RDF Solid resource. I'm not 100% sure whether the Append access mode is supported for Non-RDF-Sources. That is, do we require Appending to text files to be supported by Solid servers? I don't think so. But if it were the case, I guess that adding any line (probably including inserts) would be allowed and removing or altering existing lines would be disallowed.

2. To delete a container, you need write access to the container and all its contained resources and more specifically, you need to delete all its contained resources before deleting the container itself. With write access to a container, you can also create a new resource inside it (I would refer you to the aforementioned table for details).

I understand the two answers about Append and Write access mode.

Regarding the two answers, I tried with penny.
Agent who applied Append access mode for a RDF resource could add things and properties.
I couldn't check with Non-RDF resource, because I couldn't find PDS editors for Non-RDF.

I could check the write access mode for deleting container and resources.
