I can't run it in my rails apps

Hi Spike, thanks for your sharing on webcast O'reilly!

I want to try to implement the browserify on my existing rails apps. So I tried to run the script

./script/assets/tasks/bundle.js --path ./app/assets/javascripts/manifest.bundle.js

it does shows the scripts and compiled sourcemaps on my console, but after I rake assets:precompile and run rails app. It doesn't change anything. (I got error 'require' is not defined)

Probably I mistaken the concept, does the script means to write the bundle scripts to manifest.bundle.js?
