Hello!

My name is Julio and my username across the web is jmmv.

I have been a long-time open source contributor. My prime days were in the early 2000s while I was in college as I contributed significantly to projects such as NetBSD, FreeBSD, and Gnome in my spare time. Since having a full-time job and kids, my amount of spare time has been... reduced, but I have still been able to put out projects such as Kyua (a testing framework), sandboxfs (a file system for Bazel), and EndBASIC (a retro-looking programming environment), and long for the days when I could do a lot more of this type of work.

My interests are around systems-level programming, and these days that means Rust -- but I have also done significant stuff with C++ and Go, and plenty of other languages.

I also maintain a personal blog where I post about code quality, debugging sessions, project announcements, and even personal productivity and leadership at work.

Your support would be incredibly appreciated. I do all of this stuff "on the side" because it brings me joy, but also because I like seeing people benefit from my work. Knowing that you have found my work useful would be a good hint that I'm doing the right stuff and... who knows... maybe turn into a sufficient source of income to allow me to focus purely on open source work like I used to do while studying ๐Ÿ˜Š

Thanks!

Prove that my work on open source projects is valuable and monetizable, and cover the costs of hosting the few cloud-based services I have.
