DNS, DHCP and IP Management worlds have been my playgrounds during the 16 years (1998 – 2014) that I spent at Hewlett-Packard as a DDI engineer, working on a great variety of infrastructures, within IT teams or world wide Service Delivery organizations. During that time, I had the opportunity to design, deploy and maintain DDI solutions from the industry like VitalQIP, NetID, BlueCat, Infoblox or EfficientIP…

Some time in 2010, three colleagues of mine started their own company, Combodo, to develop a complete open source, ITIL, web based service management tool : iTop.

My ambition to develop a solution for the DDI world, based on iTop framework, started a few month after. On one side, I had seen too many companies relying on spreadsheets to maintain their IP space. On the other side, the price and complexity of DDI solutions from vendors were high enough to discourage them to invest into decent tools. Hence the idea of creating an open source, simple though comprehensive solution to provide DDI services. TeemIp project started on SourceForge at the end of 2011... and never stopped since then! 🙂

I continue to develop and maintain TeemIp mostly during my spare time 🤓. Today, TeemIp is still an independent project regularly enriched with new features for the DDI world, the CMDB - a key development axis, now - and their interactions.

What’s next ? Well, I have plenty of ideas for new developments. I just have to find the time to work on them… Sponsorship ? For sure, that would help me maintaining TeemIp's infrastructure, beside keeping the motivation high to continue the story 😎
