  • bundle together updates and edits, release to the apple store as InkPad Community Edition
  • Share access to the store controls with a few managers ("oligarchy") so that development isn't blocked when people to busy

Actually think it should be called Inkpad lowercase p. Can get the Inkscape
community behind it hopefully...right?

@rejon Why don’t you change the title then? :)

I was going to suggest creating a new organization and creating a fork of the code there for everyone to work on, but the name is already claimed. :(

Ok we can call it inkpadcommunity simply or if you all feel its not
correct, we can come up with new name to be respectful of the original.

Thoughts?

I asked the author of http://github.com/inkpad and he is going to keep it and use it, so needed a new one.

Ok, I went ahead and picked up http://inkpad.org and have it redirecting to this repository for now.

Also, I bookmarked http://github.com/inkpadproject

Yeah, anymore feedback?

@rejon Do you have a dev account? If not, I can offer to release the community edition using my account.

Is there a way to release it on the store so that we don't have a single point of failure? Just in case someone doesn't have the time or gets hit by the proverbial bus. I know you can create teams that allow multiple people to administer store releases but I think you need an organisation account for that. And to get an organisation account you need a DUN number, etc.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, I don't think there is a way around this.

@alistairmcmillan That appears to be the case.

Is there a way to convert .InkPad files to svg files? Please help me, all my project files are in .InkPad format and I no longer cannot import them from Dropbox. Please help me, thanq

@Roshanurs Which version of Inkpad are you using? If Dropbox isn't working with their fork, please ask them to fix their code. The fix is incredibly simple.

In the meantime there are various Inkpad forks available on the store. One that I'd recommend is Envoza's Inkpad. That fork is maintained and the developer is playing by the rules and releasing their source.

That should allow you to continue using your inkpad files and export to SVG if necessary.

@alistairmcmillan I am using very first version of Inkpad which was launched free, It was working fine until my Dropbox got updated accidentally. I bought "Inkpad Pro" and "Inkpad 2" to fix the issue, but none of them work as it's suppose to be. Both the developers gave fake support email ids.

Thank you for sharing Envoza's Inkpad, it works like charm, I was able to convert all my .Inkpad files to SVG without any issue. You saved my year long work. Thanks a ton.

Hi - so I'm afraid I didn't notice this thread until now, but for anyone who stumbles across it: I've brought the app up to date, put the source on GitHub (https://github.com/baburton/Inkpad), and put the app itself on the App Store for free: https://apps.apple.com/app/inkpad-libre/id1522113334 .

Feedback is welcome; please use the issue tracker at https://github.com/baburton/Inkpad .
