Well I've been working on a nice recon mission but EVERY SINGLE TIME I must start from scratch and I've been through some rough days were half-way into the set-up of the map features and units I'll crash or something... and that's so sad.

It'd be great if I could just trust the save/load function, would you be as kind as to check it out? I mean, it half works, at least I have yet to see triggers or areas not get saved/loaded properly, but everything else, including features, just won't save or load properly.

I'll keep at it anyways, it's really cool.

thanks Lowdive! I'll take a look at this (and the other issues) this weekend. I've been thinking a little bit of hacking up a cheap imitation of scenario editor that stores all the data server-side, so that we could distribute things more easily -- that is, we could have an autohost that serves people missions without them loading a new game (just stock S44 v2.0 or whatever). Mind pinging me on #s44 next time you're around? I'd like to see if this is an idea worth prototyping from the mission writer perspective.

Hey, sorry about that!
The save/load function was indeed untrustworthy (especially as it would save things differently if you went out of spectator mode and took controlled of a team - it would then only save what that team could see)
I'll aim to address this issue for the next release. I'm currently in the process of making a shiny new serialization library - https://github.com/gajop/s11n - as a library separate of Scened and potentially usable in other projects for functionalities such as: save/load, copy/paste, clone, game checkpoints and more. It's not fully integrated yet, but I'll let you know when it is!

Very promising!
In the meantime I've found the Commands (areas, events, actions) very
reliable and I'm working out how to make missions with those tools, also
feature placement is working fine until now.
I believe I'll be able to deliver some nice showcase missions at some point.

Maybe you could shed some light on my camera issue though? is it possible
to do what I've been trying to do?
