Hi @TheHexaCube , apologies for taking a long time to respond to this,
So unfortunately the lack of availability to find Magnetocosmics is a known issue. At the moment it seems like some groups already have a version and some groups don't. Magnetocosmics is a piece of software that I believe is owned and being worked on by the European Space Agency, and you could contact them directly to see if they could supply you with a copy. I believe there may be news on expanding its accessibility some time in the future, however this could be a while. Unfortunately this stuff isn't really my area of knowledge, although @drflei knows a lot more than I do about this, and you may be able to contact him about it for more information.
An idea we've discussed internally is the idea of having an alternate source of asymptotic directions for AniMAIRE, such as OTSO, so that users don't necessarily have to install Magnetocosmics to run AniMAIRE. Unfortunately so far none of us have had time to implement this, but if you have some free time/interest in doing so you or anyone else would be more than welcome to implement that as a feature (it would require replacing or modifying the AsympDirsCalculator library that AniMAIRE depends on with a module that produces the same output but with an alternative to Magnetocosmics). However I fully appreciate this would take at least a reasonable amount of work.
One alternate idea is if you have specific simulations you'd like to run for now you could send to details about them to me and/or @drflei and we could discuss running them for you as a collaboration for now if you'd be interested.
Hi,
i stumbled upon this project yesterday and it seems like exactly what I was looking for.
Unfortunately I am unable to find any source for the prerequisite software 'magnetocosmics'.
Is there any chance a new source can be provided, or was this done because of known reasons?
Thanks!
