Enriching notes with meta-data from 3rd party API

I finally found standard notes today and directly subscribed - thanks in advance for everything you provide, I was searching "your solution" for a long time.

I've got a question related to extending it. What would be the right way/combination (extension/action) to connect notes with other meta-data like for example, https://exist.io/ (http://developer.exist.io/) offers it?

A great idea would be displaying some additional meta-data (based on the date) for notes with a specific tag and cache it. That would be especially interesting for journaling/keeping a diary.
