Hi All (or just Steven).

About 23 years of coding C for micro-controllers, self taught with no collaboration. I've done very little on the PC, but some, since I switched to Debian about 4 years ago.
I'm a fan of Eskil Steenberg, Mr Torvaldis, Uncle Bob, I'm always interested to hear what wisdom older programmers have to share.
I feel like my code is pretty clean now, and anything I wrote more than 4 years ago looks horrific. Although 4 years ago I would have said the same thing, so maybe in 4 years I'll hate what I'm writing today? Does that happen to you?

I never made the jump to C++, while it does fix some of the problems with C it just seems over complicated. The purpose of a high level language should be to make things simpler. I did consider https://gist.github.com/bkaradzic/2e39896bc7d8c34e042b but still didn't try it.

I think I starred the snippets because of the custom printf, I have my own printf (called prnf) which I use and love (see my repo), so I was looking around at what others have done.

Hi Mick,

Thanks for the message. I share the same feeling on C++. I started with C++, somewhere in 1990, but it has grown into something that is over my head. For me, C is still as sharp as it ever was and I still learn new stuff or ways, after 35 years with it. I don't follow the fads and stuff. Embedded is still mainly C and it will last several more years being the queen of embedded programming. At least, it pays my bills. And that brings me to this snippets repo here. I use it mainly for small snippets that I use in client projects and for which there is a need for legal clearness of ownership and license; that's also the reason for the MIT license on all these published snippets.

So I don't feel a big urge to make it more widely known somewhere else.
