We've tried to contact @steven-omaha a couple of times and he hasn't responded yet. To prevent stagnation of the project, we forked it with some changes and an improved user experience over at ripytide/metapac.

Most importantly, we've done the following:

• changed from plain ini style config to TOML (allowed us to do a lot more and set a lot more options for package managers that let us fiddle with them, [Feature request]: Add per-package config options #79)
• Added snap, brew and winget package manager backends ([Backend request]: snap #94, [Backend request]: Brew #84)
• Removed dependency on package manager libs ([Bug]: debian build doesn't run on debian stable due to too new glibc abi #93, [Bug]: libalpm.so.14: cannot open shared object file #90)
• Other bug fixes ([Bug]: flatpak pinned packages should be considered explicitly installed. #86, [Bug]: Pacman group package like gnome and gnome-extra are not managed #89)
