A proposal to rename the StoneDB engine

If you have read our docs, you may find out that “StoneDB” sometimes refers to the DBMS, while sometimes refers to the storage engine. This may be confusing in some contexts.

So, we decide to change the name of the storage engine from “StoneDB” to something else and we want you to help make the decision.(#199)

Here are some options we come up with. Please vote for the option that you prefer. If you think none of them is good enough, please reply to this post to give us your suggestion. The final result will be confirmed on July 24th. The name with the most votes will then be adopted

Brief description about each option:

• StoneX：“Stone” is part of the DBMS’s name “StoneDB”. “X” represents infinite possibilities. We hope the engine can become more and more powerful with every contributor’s efforts. (This is a good name, but we hesitate about using it because there exists a company named “StoneX”.)

• Tianmu：named after Mount Tianmu in Hangzhou, which means “the eyes of the god”. We like this name, not only because the engine is birthed in Hangzhou, but also we want the engine can give insights to its users.

• Taishan：named after one of the most famous mountains -- Mount Tai -- in China. Mount Tai is praised as peerless under heaven. It is so strong and charming that we hope our engine can possess the same features as Mount Tai. (So far, you can see that we are really into names with Chinese origins.)

• Stonehenge：named after the prehistoric monument in England. You may have noticed that the logo of StoneDB has referred to the Stonehenge. Therefore, we think "Stonehenge" is also a good idea.
