Big bummer that new Twitch API :/
I understand why the API is used for. But me I've never login. I use your twitch-gui app to avoid the js, ads, etc bs from the Twitch official website. I search for who's currently live and launch the stream in mpv from your app. Really neat.
I've read your Twitch helix API #849 issue. And as a non-technical user, I was wondering if all this API work could have been avoided if instead the app was querying the info from the Twitch URL. I assume that is possible because I use yt for YouTube. Which you can search videos and playlists on YouTube and play them in mpv, without an API.
Anyhow, it makes me always mad to see an author been overwhelmed because a big company wants to be an ass. I assume, without the API, maintaining your app would've been much more easier for you. I mean, if the users wants a notification when some streamers goes live, they could log into the Twitch official website in order to do that.
After all that extra work that you did, we now cant use your app without login in :(
I'll have to go back to those Twitch tracker websites that does not force js on the user to render their website. Damn it!
