Reader switches off after time even when on mains power

Noob here. Recently started creating kiosk app with sumup. I have a number of readers connected to self service kiosks to make donations.

How do I keep the reader awake. I use prepareforcheckout every few minutes even if no transaction to keep it awake. Yet they sometimes power off even when on full battery and plugged into mains powered usb.

Is there a way to disable to sleep function on the terminal or set the sleep to kick in after 2 days. I need to keep the reader awake - its got full charge and mains connection!

You can try to use BLE connection. If this exists, maybe adding some hourly interval to warm-up the terminals
