  • Please tell us about yourself (include an email address):
    Muhammad Shoaib
    [email protected]
I am from Pakistan, currently based in the UK, and work as Software Development Manager at a tech company.

  • Your purpose in using this API:
I am researching (not academic) how can hadith authenticity be made easily accessible as a service. Today, its difficult to verify the correctness and authenticity of a hadith, including the sanad of its narrators. While I, as a technical professional, can spend some time online and gather sources, search in various books etc., everybody else might not be able to do that. And even for a tech professional its going to take few hours, depending upon how un/common the topic is.

For this I need to experiment with data, and intend to use Sunnah.com dataset.

  • API rate limits:

    • Maximum requests per second:
Initially, as I work with test scripts (Python) etc. I expect around 1-5 TPS, when a script is running.
    • Maximum requests per day:
      Upto 1500.
  • Is your use case better served by having an offline dump of hadith data or programmatic API access?
Actually yes. An offline dump of hadith data would be a better option.

  • What are the languages in which would you like hadith data?
    All.

  • What programming language will your API client be in?

    • Python
    • Java
