Single Sign-on (SSO) - How might it be possible to have SSO support across multiple apps installed?

Recently I was promoting Swiftwave to some other tech folk and the topic of SSO came up.
As it currently stands apps installed are each isoldated and separate. Wanted to start the convesation of how might it be possible to have SSO support across multiple apps installed within a Switfwave instance.

The usecase is fairly clear: An organisation sets up swiftwave and sets up SSO. As new apps are installed from the siftwave app store its easy to fold those apps into the same SSO setup.

What would it take to be able to achieve this with Swiftwave. I think this feature is a good fit and can lead to even greater adoption of Swiftwave.

I have tried Authentik initially, it works but the implementation is complicated and resource consuming as well.

Swiftwave currently has only basic auth support at proxy level.

Maybe we need to create something from scratch or extend haproxy lua plugin to support oidc
