I think that it could better to remove the docstrings in the function templates in the tutorial.
They are more harder to read and it is better to write everything in jupyter notebook.

That sounds fine. I think it's useful to have at least a one line description of the function, but we can move the doctest examples out. Those are a holdover from a previous year where we had some thing that automatically doctested the function so people could check if it was correct.
