Logshark v2.0
This is the release of Logshark v2.0, a command line utility that you can run against Tableau Server logs to generate a set of workbooks that provide insights into system performance, content usage, and error conditions.
Logshark 2.0 includes numerous fixes and improvements made since the initial v1 release in November 2016. Just a few highlights include:
- Several new plugins have been added to enhance analysis output, including Vizportal, Filestore, Postgres, and SearchServer.
- Workbook improvements have been implemented across the board. In addition, all Tableau workbook files have been updated to Tableau Desktop 10.0 and have received a face-lift.
- "Artifact Processor" framework has been introduced, paving the way to add Logshark support for new upcoming Tableau product lines. This framework also makes Logshark extendable to process logs produced by applications other than Tableau.
- Many, many bug fixes.
If you are a new Logshark user and want information about what Logshark is and how to use it, please see the README file and the installation & user guide.
If you are an existing Logshark user upgrading from Logshark v1.0, simply download and run the v2.0 installer to update your existing Logshark installation in-place. Note that the workbooks produced by Logshark now require Tableau Desktop v10.0+, instead of v9.3.
