There is a new initiative by the LibreOffice design team to implement Peer to Peer collaboration with LibreOffice [1].
It seems to me that ODFToolKit has done much of the groundwork necessary for collaborative editing. ODF changes/operations seems to be an excellent basis, particularly for P2P. The discussion on it is on the LibreOffice Design mailing list and in bug 133984 [2].
In one of the earlier presentations of ODFToolKit, it was mentioned that LibreOffice will be one of the reference implementations for ODF operations/changes. Does this already exist? Otherwise, the initiative by the LO design team might be an opportunity implementing this in LibreOffice.
